The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, has announced the recruitment of 4500 Assistant Teachers for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) schools. Eligible candidates who are Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam can apply online, provided they have qualified in either the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Applicants must be permanent residents of Assam.
Educational Qualification
- Assistant Teacher (LP): Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Candidates must have passed Assam TET or CTET for LP level.
- Assistant Teacher (UP): Graduate from a UGC-recognized university, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). Assam TET or CTET for UP level is mandatory.
Age Limit (as of 01/01/2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 40 Years
- Age relaxation: OBC/MOBC - 3 years, SC/ST - 5 years, Ex-Servicemen - 2 years, PwD - 10 years.
Language Requirement: Candidates must ensure that either Language-I or Language-II in their TET qualification matches the medium of instruction of the school they wish to apply for.
